A construction firm in the area has added two members to its team and promoted a long-time employee.

Rockford-based Nugent Builders said last month it hired George Germain and Nancee Ritsema and promoted Don Sobie.

George Germain

Germain joins Nugent as a project manager and safety director and has 18 years experience as an owner’s representative.

He will help Nugent deliver projects on time, on budget and ensure buildings are efficient throughout their lifecycles.

Previously, Germain was director of facilities for Montcalm Community College for 18 years and a project engineer for The Christman Company.

He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Central Michigan University.

Nancee Ritsema

With 18 years of experience, Ritsema will act as a Nugent’s administrative assistant and contract administrator and focus within the firm’s commercial division.

She will issue contracts and change orders and process submittals, while ensuring correct materials are used on the job. Ritsema will also manage job costs and budgets, as well as operate as the firm’s AIA billing specialist and commercial division accountant.

She will also be the liaison between subcontractors, construction managers and project owners.

Don Sobie

Following 15 years with Nugent, Sobie moved up from foreman to project superintendent.

He’s currently serving as project superintendent at the Cedar Springs Public Library project.
