A local construction firm has named its new chief operations officer.

Grand Rapids-based Triangle Associates said yesterday it hired John Raimondo to the COO role, filling the post formerly held by Jim Huyser, who is transitioning into the role of SVP and director of field operations.

As COO, Raimondo will oversee the performance of the construction operations by providing leadership and oversight, while ensuring that proper management systems and personnel are in place to deliver the level of performance required.

Specific areas of his oversight include construction and pre-construction activities, including estimating and project development, project management and field operations.

“We are thrilled to have John join our team,” said Craig Datema, president and CEO, Triangle Associates. “He brings a strong track record of sales growth, operational efficiency and profit improvement to the company and will add an additional skill set to our executive leadership team.”

Previously, Raimondo was director of business strategy and planning and international operations at Roncelli, a design, construction and facility management company in Sterling Heights. 

He has also been with Walbridge Aldinger, Barton Malow and Arcadis. 

Raimondo holds a B.S. in engineering technology in architecture from Fairmont State University, a B.S. in construction engineering from Lawrence Technological University and an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from Wayne State University.
