A construction group in the region has appointed one of its members as vice president of human resources.

CSM Group of Companies in Kalamazoo has promoted Kristen Kremer to the new position, which is an evolved position from her previous role as director of HR and manager of organizational development and diversity.

Kremer’s new role will allow her to work with senior-level leadership to align organizational goals with the company's strategic vision and mission. She will continue to oversee the company’s HR practices.

“(Kremer) has a great passion for cultural excellence, along with a talent for fostering both inclusivity and individualism,” said Steve East, chairman and CEO of CSM Group of Companies. “Her guidance and deep knowledge enable us to embrace our teammates in a unique and tailored fashion that amplifies their enthusiasm and drives them to be their best.”

In her 12 years with CSM Group, Kremer has developed and implemented several HR plans and policies for recruitment, training and compensation and has led CSM Group of Companies through the implementation of several employee-recognition programs.

Kremer also sits on the board of directors for the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering women and minorities economically through business development training, supplier certification, business-to-business networking and more.
