A construction supplier with a pair of West Michigan locations has been acquired.

Lansing-based Fox Brothers Company — a roofing, siding, windows and doors distributor — was acquired this week by Herndon, Virginia-based Beacon Roofing Supply.

Fox Brothers also has locations in Byron Center, Kalamazoo and Howell.

Fox Brothers was founded in 1984 by Tom Fox and Dan Fox.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fox Brothers President Tom Fox said the two companies offer each other benefits, with Beacon providing Fox brothers with national market strength and Beacon gaining residential markets in West Michigan.

"Joining the Beacon team presents a tremendous opportunity for the entire Fox family and our loyal customers and employees,” Fox said. “As we evaluated potential strategic partners, we chose Beacon, because Beacon shares our values, culture and our belief that success comes from hard work and great customer service. I am very excited about our future at Beacon."

Beacon Roofing Supply CEO and President Paul Isabella said that Fox Brothers has “built a reputation as a high-quality supplier of residential roofing and related building materials that will strengthen our existing Michigan business.”

“We are thrilled that the Fox family chose Beacon as the strategic partner that fit most with its values, would offer the greatest service to its customers and would provide the best career growth opportunities for its employees. Fox is a great strategic acquisition for Beacon.”

Beacon Roofing Supply, founded in 1928, operates 369 branches in 45 states and six Canadian provinces.

Beacon is a supplier of commercial roofing, residential roofing and complementary building products.
