Wheeler Development Group (WDG) is building its first new townhome project since the beginning of the pandemic.

The developer purchased a 10-acre site to build Evergreen Townhomes, a $12 million, 52-unit townhome community at 3141 East Beltline Ave. NE in Grand Rapids.

The project will have 13 buildings with two- and three-bedroom homes outfitted gas appliances, a fireplace, attached garage, custom kitchens and optional basements. Residents also will have access to an on-site dog park.

The developer is partnering with Midwest Construction to build the townhomes, and PURE Real Estate will be the property manager. First National Bank of Michigan is financing the project.

“After nearly two years of planning, pricing and design, our team is excited to partner with Midwest Construction on Evergreen Townhomes,” said WDG Spokesperson Jason Wheeler. “This will be the first time we’ve broken ground since COVID disrupted the construction industry, so this is cause for celebration. We are grateful to our partners and we’re ready to bring additional housing solutions to the area through this investment.”

The build team did not yet have a groundbreaking ceremony, but construction of the townhomes is underway. Pricing information and home details will be released at groundbreaking.

WDG worked with Progressive AE and Nederveld to develop the concept similar to its other townhome developments, including Hanover Townhomes in Caledonia, Michigan Meadows in Grand Rapids, Preserve Townhomes in Spring Lake and The Knoll Townhomes in Ada.
