A drug maker’s foundation has donated $25,000 to a nonprofit focused on providing mentors for children.
The Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation awarded the check to the Kalamazoo-based chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, A Community of Caring.
The funds will support multiple initiatives, including the Bigs in Business mentorship program between Perrigo employees and Allegan students.
Perrigo said 15 of its employees are volunteering for the nonprofit this year.
The chapter serves Kalamazoo, Allegan, Calhoun and Van Buren counties.
Its primary focus is to pair children with adult mentors.
Founded in 2000, the Perrigo Company Charitable Foundation is the charitable arm of Perrigo.
The foundations seeks to support health, well-being and education for the people and communities in and around the areas where it operates globally.
