A local credit union has finished construction on a new 2,800-square-foot branch across the street from a former location.
Grand Rapids-based Adventure Credit Union is celebrating its new Kentwood location, at 6672 Crossings Dr. SE, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony next Tuesday.
The credit union previously operated a branch nearby in Gaines Township, at 6750 Kalamazoo Ave. SE.
“We are excited to provide our members the convenience of a stand-alone branch so close to our previous location,” said Steve Bush, president and CEO, Adventure Credit Union.
The new space is slightly larger than its former Gaines Township branch and includes on-site parking and drive-thru services that include a traditional ATM and an interactive teller machine, which is an ATM that uses video-chat technology to connect customers with a live teller off site.
Inside the branch is an additional ITM and self-serve kiosk, in addition to in-person financial services.
Grand Rapids-based Orion Construction broke ground on the building, designed by Grand Rapids-based Concept Design, last December.
Orion and Adventure Credit Union have partnered on several other branches in the area, including Adventure’s location at Arena Place in downtown Grand Rapids.
“This Kentwood branch relocation was a great opportunity to solidify our partnership,” said Roger Rehkopf, president, Orion Construction. “This project went very smooth.”
