A credit union in the region has named a new human resources executive.
St. Joseph-based United Federal Credit Union hired Kimetha Firpo as senior vice president of human resources, according to the organization last week.
Firpo will be responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership to the HR team for compensation and benefits, payroll operations, recruiting, employee relations, performance management, data management, training and development.

Firpo brings to the role over 38 years of leadership and managerial experience, as well as project and change management expertise.
Previously, Firpo served as SVP of HR information systems and organizational development at MB Financial and SVP of HR at American Chartered Bank, which is now part of Fifth Third Bank.
She also served as principal consultant at Rupert & Co., VP of account management at Ceridian/Work Family Directions and VP at BMO Harris Bank.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and sociology from the University of Rochester and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
