A credit union in the region is continuing its expansion into greater Grand Rapids with the opening of a new branch.

Kalamazoo-based Arbor Financial Credit Union is opening a location Wednesday at 2757 44th St. SW in Wyoming, according to the credit union yesterday.

This is the institution’s second Grand Rapids-area branch after opening the first last August at 7200 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Caledonia.

“As we indicated last year, we have a strong commitment to this market and are quickly expanding our presence in this community,” said Julie Blitchok, president and CEO of Arbor Financial Credit Union.

“This expansion gives us the opportunity to help Grand Rapids-area residents get more from their money through better rates and a higher level of service.”

A ribbon-cutting will be held at the new Wyoming office at 9 a.m. Feb. 26, attended by Blitchok, Arbor Financial board members, city of Wyoming and Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce representatives, and more.

Special products and prizes will be offered from the first day of opening throughout the month of March, including special rates for mortgages and CDs, along with drawings for $100 home improvement gift certificates and a $1,400 grand prize.
