A motorcycle dealer has expanded its regional reach by acquiring two out-of-state Harley-Davidson dealerships.

Fox Powersports in Kentwood said last week that it has acquired two Chicago area dealerships from Revolution Motorsports, a New Orleans-based dealer.

The two dealerships acquired by Fox Powersports, a division of auto dealer Fox Motors, are Chicago Harley-Davidson in Glenview, Ill. and Lake Shore Harley-Davidson in Libertyville, Ill.

“We are thrilled to expand Fox Powersports’ relationship with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company in the Chicago area, especially given the proximity to Milwaukee, where William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson started it all,” said Dan DeVos, Fox Powersports owner and CEO.

DeVos added that the stores have “employees and customers as passionate about Harley-Davidsons as Fox.”

“We know that we will properly represent the iconic Harley-Davidson brand in the Chicago area for many, many years to come,” DeVos said.

Ford Lincoln dealership

Fox Motors, which expanded into Illinois last winter, recently received approval from the city of Chicago to construct a 150,000-square-foot Ford Lincoln dealership, at 2501 N. Elston Ave.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed by October 2015.
