A locally based retailer that sells name-brand products from big-box stores at a discounted rate has opened a new location in the area — and it plans to add more stores.

Hudsonville-based B2 Outlet Stores has opened a store in Walker, at 3343 Alpine Ave. NW. It is the chain's 12th store.

B2 is also set to open a 4,000-square-foot store in Hastings, at 1323 M-43, within the week. This fall, the company plans to open stores in Big Rapids and Rochester.

B2 says it invests 51 percent of the profit back into the local community.

The 7,000-square-foot Alpine store will serve numerous community service groups within the area that are focused on youth empowerment and leadership development.

“We chose this location because the building was in good shape, has great visibility, is in a busy area and in a market we have been trying to get into and start impacting,” said Kory Bauswell, VP of regional development, B2 Outlet Stores.

Bauswell added that the Alpine store will soon join other B2 stores in launching the One Cause effort, whereby all locations will donate to a singular mission that impacts local and international efforts.

Todd Leinberger of NAI Wisinski of West Michigan assisted B2 Outlet Stores in securing the space, and Dick Jasinski of NAI represented the unnamed landlord.

“B2 is one of those examples of a retailer who is growing rapidly in our current retail environment,” Leinberger said. “I think their success lies in their ability to source good products at exceptional price points and create a great shopping experience for their customers. The product and experience as well as B2’s commitment to the community sets them apart.”

The original B2 Outlet Store opened in Hudsonville in November 2014.
