Brace yourselves, Donald Rumsfeld is coming to Grand Rapids.

On leadership

Rumsfeld will be in town next Tuesday to give a presentation titled “Rumsfeld’s Rules: Leadership Lessons in Business, Politics, War and Life.”

Rumsfeld served as America’s secretary of defense under President George W. Bush and President Gerald Ford, and he served as Ford’s chief of staff.

Rumsfeld’s speech, which is also the name of his latest book, will focus on his personal strategies for leadership.

The event will be at 4 p.m. at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Rumsfeld’s presentation is sponsored by the museum and the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation.

“I'm delighted, as Dad and Mom would most certainly have been, that our dear friend Don Rumsfeld will celebrate Dad and Mom’s remarkable legacies with us,” Susan Ford Bales said. “Secretary Rumsfeld’s compilation of ‘Rumsfeld’s Rules' is a leadership guide that is singularly unique."

The event is free, but seating is limited.

People can reserve a seat by emailing rsvp at 38foundation dot org or calling 616-254-0396.
