A downtown bar is celebrating its seventh anniversary this Thursday with an all-day burger bash.
Stella’s Lounge said it will offer its “giant,” stuffed burgers for the discounted price of $5. There will also be free-play arcade games, rare whiskey releases, special beer tappings and pub trivia throughout the day.
Stella’s stuffed burgers were named “Best in America” by GQ in 2012 and have been featured on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the Cooking Channel’s “Cheap Eats” and Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family,” among others.
The burgers have also been voted “Best in Grand Rapids” by readers of Grand Rapids Magazine and On the Town several years in a row.
In addition to 250 varieties of whiskey normally available, Stella’s will release and offer pours of Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Brandy Cask Finish, New Holland Zeppelin Bend Reserve Sherry Cask Finish, Yellowstone Select and other whiskeys to guests throughout the day. Guests will also have the opportunity to sign up for Whiskey Society, Stella’s monthly meeting of whiskey enthusiasts.
Stella’s punch will be available in a limited-edition seventh-anniversary Stella’s Punch tumbler.
The bar’s collection of vintage arcade game cabinets and pinball machines will be free to play from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Pub trivia hosted by Geeks Who Drink will begin at 10 p.m. in Stella’s back-room bar. Prizes include a food voucher for first-, second- and third-place teams.
