A museum downtown is coming to life for one night this month.

The Night at Your Museum at the Grand Rapids Public Museum is scheduled for 6-9 p.m., Dec. 27, at the museum, 272 Pearl St. NW, Grand Rapids.

Visitors will become part of the drama as soon as they enter during an interactive night of character appearances, entertainment and food.

Guests can ride the Spillman Carousel, hear the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ and see the holiday planetarium show, Let It Snow, in the Chaffee Planetarium. The night will conclude with medieval knights dueling with swords.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online.

The royal dinner

In addition to the Night at Your Museum program, guests can meet and have an exclusive dinner with royals like Cleopatra and her clan, knights, queens and more, while learning about castle life and what it takes to become a knight of the realm.

Tickets for the royal dinner are $45 and include admission to the Night at Your Museum. Dinner begins at 4:45 p.m. and seating is limited.

Traveling exhibits

Throughout the evening, visitors also can learn about myths and legends from around the world. They will be greeted by mythical creatures from the sea, land and air, including dragons, unicorns and mermaids.

These tickets are an additional $4 per person, and $2 for museum members.
