A drug maker will host a job fair in the region on Monday to help fill more than 200 openings.

The event by New York City-based Pfizer will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Kalamazoo, at 100 West Michigan Ave.

The company is hiring professionals for various types of positions: manufacturing, engineering, skilled trades, line operators, quality inspectors, supply chain, scientists and others.

Some of the hiring is related to planning and preparing for Pfizer's new $465-million modular aseptic processing facility in Portage, announced in July, as well as positions throughout its Portage and Rochester manufacturing sites.

Pfizer’s goal is to conduct interviews during the job fair.

The company said attendees should dress as they would for a job interview.

Candidates are encouraged to apply for specific jobs online

Candidates will still be welcome on a walk-in basis if they're unable to apply or register beforehand.

Educational requirements depend on the job, ranging from high school diploma or GED to advanced degrees.

Registration for the free event is available online.
