The East Hills Big Bang Art Festival will take over the Mangiamo! lawn this weekend.

The free two-day festival will include art, music, food and drinks at the restaurant, at 1033 Lake Dr.

The second-annual festival is Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday noon-5 p.m.

Tom Duimstra, a co-organizer of the event, said that the purpose of the festival is to highlight the work of professional artists, all from West Michigan.

“We personally invite the artists, and we look for serious artists, not hobbyists or weekend artists,” Duimstra said. “We want the real deal. We feel Grand Rapids is lacking in this area, as far as art fairs go.”
