The power-management company Eaton Corp. has hired a new vice president of information technology for its Vehicle Group.
As VP, Marie Smith will be responsible for developing and maintaining the division’s information technology, while supporting the Vehicle Group’s business strategies and optimizing IT investments.
Smith will be based in Galesburg and report to Bonnie Smith, senior vice president, information technology and industrial sector, and Ken Davis, president, Vehicle Group.
“Marie’s experience and leadership skills are a great addition to our team,” Davis said. “Having strong, secure and innovative IT capabilities are critical to growing our business and delivering value-added solutions to our customers.”
Prior to joining Eaton, Smith was VP of IT and materials business for Avery Dennison.
She previously served as chief information officer for both MOD-PAC and Bausch and Lomb.
Earlier in her career, Smith held several IT leadership positions with Kellogg Co.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ferris State University.

The company’s 2013 sales totaled $22 billion.
