The Economic Club of Grand Rapids has a new board chair and group of board members.
Thomas Haas, president emeritus of Grand Valley State University, is the club’s new board chair. Tina Freese Decker, president and CEO of Spectrum Health, is the club’s new vice chair.
Haas ascended from his role last year as vice president. Decker will do the same next year.
The other officers were in place. The board secretary and legal counsel is Bob Wolford of Miller Johnson. The treasurer is Bob Herr, formerly of Crowe Horwath. The secretary and treasurer positions are elected as officers but do not serve as directors.
The club also added nine members to the 39-member board.
The club’s nominating committee selected the board nominees, and the board elected them at the June board meeting. The term is July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
