The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce hired a new member of its business services team.

The chamber said Tuesday, Nov. 16, it hired Caylie Peet for the newly created position of minority business program manager.

In this role, Peet will work alongside the business services team as she oversees the chamber’s minority business programming, including the Minority Business Councils and assisting with the West Michigan Minority Contractors programming.

Peet has a background in community engagement, most recently serving as the community engagement coordinator for Rockford Construction. She has been involved in numerous nonprofit and volunteer organizations and has a variety of experience working with small businesses, local neighborhoods and business associations.

“As the Grand Rapids Chamber works to best serve our diverse business community, I am thrilled to welcome Caylie to the team,” said Dante Villarreal, vice president of business and talent development at the Grand Rapids Chamber. “Her experiences will be a great addition as we continue to expand and diversify the many ways we serve our business community.”

Peet said she is honored to join the team.

“I look forward to helping grow relationships and opportunities for minority businesses throughout West Michigan,” she said. “There is much work to be done, and I can’t wait to get started.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality administration/management from Grand Valley State University and will be graduating from GVSU in December with a master’s in communications.
