A Hudsonville sanitation company is moving to Grand Rapids.

Commercial Sanitation Management (CSM) Services, which specializes in commercial and school district cleaning, commercial hard floor, carpet care, window cleaning and construction cleaning, is moving its headquarters to 1300 Front Ave. NW in Grand Rapids.

“We are thrilled for what this move means for our future growth and opportunity,” said CSM President Andrew Horton. “By relocating near the heart of downtown, we will be much more visible to the community and have greater proximity to new and existing customers.”

CSM Services started in Hudsonville 20 years ago and has grown to employ 201-500 workers. The company saw an uptick in growth through the COVID-19 pandemic, as its client base evolved from smaller commercial accounts to schools and other larger employers. The company now serves a diverse client base throughout the state of Michigan and continues to make investments to support customers with intensive cleaning services that combat infectious diseases such as COVID-19. In addition, the company’s staff receive OSHA-approved training and equipment, including personal protective equipment.

The company currently is operating at the Front Avenue location while renovations are underway. When construction is complete, the company will occupy more than 30,000 square feet in the new location.

The move was announced by Gun Lake Investments (GLI), which acquired the company in 2018. GLI is an economic development corporation owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians — also known as the Gun Lake Tribe — that manages a private investment portfolio.

“Without GLI, this transition would not be possible, and we are grateful for their continued support,” Horton said. “I believe with their backing, and our team’s obsession with providing outstanding services to our customers, there’s really no limit to what we can accomplish.”
