A West Michigan electrical company is expanding into the technology sector.

CS Erickson, electrical services contractor and subsidiary company of Custer Inc., will assume Custer Technology’s audiovisual and technology services and resources, effective Jan. 1, 2020. This shift is meant to align CS Erickson’s capabilities with Custer’s technology customers and better serve the expanding technology needs of growing companies in West Michigan.

“As a Custer family of companies, we are excited about the growth opportunities that come with this transition,” said Todd Custer, president and CEO of Custer Inc. “With this new unified scope of capabilities, CS Erickson will be able to more efficiently complete project cycles, ensuring customers are receiving the highest-quality services.”

In 2015, Custer became majority owner of C&S Electrical Services. The company then purchased Erickson Electric Service to further expand its integrated furniture and technology capabilities in 2017. The two newly-acquired entities then were merged into one business and rebranded as CS Erickson.

Today, CS Erickson serves commercial, industrial and health care clients throughout West Michigan from its Grand Haven and Grand Rapids locations. Most recently, CS Erickson refurbished all 119 of the Grand Haven Pier’s original housings with new marine grade wire and new light bulb bases from the originals.

“CS Erickson has experienced successful growth the last few years. With the addition of our Technology team, we are excited to serve our clients with expanded solutions and capabilities for current and future needs,” said Josh Lester, president of CS Erickson.

The subsidiary company is comprised of 58 skilled electricians, technicians, engineers and sales advisers. The transition of existing technology customers began earlier this fall, and the complete transition is expected to be finalized by January.
