Editor's note: The list of national winners from West Michigan has been updated and corrected. The initial list was comprised of companies the association named as regional winners.
A large group of West Michigan businesses have been rated among the best places to work in the nation.
The Warren-based National Association of Business Resources, or NABR, announced last week its list of the 2017 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation, and 58 employers in the region are on the list, up from 50 last year.
The awards program recognizes companies with the “most innovative and thoughtful approach to human resources.”
“National companies realize that their employees are key to business success,” said Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO, NABR. “They intentionally keep employee needs at the forefront of their policies. We are very impressed by the commitment that they have demonstrated to their employees.”
Program and methodology
This year's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation program honored 437 winning organizations from across the country, out of 2,000 nominations.
In addition to honoring all national winners, a new sub-category was introduced this year, the Top 101 national winning companies. These are the highest-scoring 101 winning companies out of the 437 total winners. Elite awards are also presented to the highest winning companies that demonstrated exceptional innovative human resource practices and set high standards for all businesses.
NABR evaluates companies based on 20 key metrics in various categories, such as employee benefits, recruitment process, development and treatment of employees and overall company performance.
Awards
The Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in the Nation will be featured in the Feb. 8 online edition of Corp! magazine.
The companies will receive additional recognition as national winners at one of the regional Best and Brightest Companies to Work For awards symposiums in 2018: Grand Rapids, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Dallas, San Diego and Boston.
A national conference is in the planning process for 2019.
NABR
The National Association of Business Resources said it “fosters a collaborative environment in which companies and leaders learn best practices, trends and vital information benefiting the company and its employees well beyond the finances.”
Through its Best and Brightest programs, NABR provides specialized business services, education and resources for businesses throughout the U.S.
