A local engineering company that is more than half-a-century old is embracing a new brand.

Grand Rapids engineering firm Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber recently announced it has re-branded as simply Fishbeck.

“Over the last 20 years, our firm has experienced tremendous growth and expansion into new markets. It was time for a change to reflect this growth,” said Jeff Schumaker, PE, president and principal of Fishbeck. “As we continue to expand, we felt a name change would present a unified message that is more easily recognized in all the regions in which we provide our service. This new brand represents the innovative work and minds we have at our firm.”

With locations in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, the re-brand aims to create cohesion among all 14 offices.

Fishbeck remains 100% employee-owned. While the name change will provide new opportunities in additional markets, the firm’s core services remain engineering, architecture, environmental sciences, and construction management.

Established in 1956, Fishbeck is a full-service engineering firm with over 450 employees. Fishbeck began opening additional offices outside of its home state in 2006.

Over the past 10 years, Fishbeck’s revenue has grown by almost 50%, with a staff increase of over 25%. In 2019, Fishbeck opened a new location in Indianapolis, Indiana, and acquired the Ohio-based consulting firm Northwest Consultants Inc.
