An environmental consulting and engineering firm relocated its Kentwood office.

Barr Engineering Company this month said it moved its office from 4771 50th St. SE in Kentwood to a larger location at 3033 Orchard Vista Drive SE, Suite 200, in Cascade Township.

The new 16,873-square-foot office provides upgraded office aesthetics and more space for its growing West Michigan presence, as the company welcomed 13 new team members in the past 18 months.

“The new office space prepares us to meet the needs of our clients and employees in the new flexible work environment well into the future,” said Chris Miron, vice president and senior chemical engineer at Barr. “Improved spaces for staff collaboration and state-of-the-art technology will allow us to efficiently complete work on our clients’ behalf and connect with colleagues and clients, regardless of location.”

The new office is designed for in-person and hybrid working. It features eight soundproof conference rooms equipped with video conferencing capabilities, two break rooms, a training center, a shower facility, a reference library, underground parking and natural light.

“Architecturally, the office is designed with a theme that reflects the Great Lakes and the outdoor experience in Michigan with lots of blue and wood tones,” Miron said. “We even named our conference rooms after Michigan rivers, as they inspire the work we do every day.”

Barr Engineering is an employee-owned engineering and environmental consulting firm founded in 1966. With more than 900 employee owners, the company serves mining, fuel, public sector and manufacturing clients worldwide.
