A "fast-fashion" clothing chain is opening another store in the region.

Stockholm-based H&M is scheduled to open a location at The Crossroads mall in Portage, at 6650 S. Westnedge Ave., on July 26.

The 22,140-square-foot store will be located next to American Eagle and Children’s Place on the first level of the mall.

“H&M is one of the more popular retailers right now,” said Charisse Stewart, general manager, The Crossroads. “They are attracting quite a bit of interest on the national level, so our leasing team thought it would be a good addition to the center.”

The chain also operates locations at Woodland Mall in Kentwood and Tangler Outlets in Byron Center.

H&M was founded in 1947 as a women’s clothing store, and it now sells women’s, men’s and children’s fashion at 4,800 stores worldwide.

In addition to the H&M and H&M Home brands, the company also owns COS, & Other Stories, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday, ARKET and Afound.
