Work is about to begin on a new townhome-style apartment complex in Grand Rapids.
Grand Rapids-based CD Barnes Construction will formally break ground next week on the Village at Thirteen Hundred, at 1300 3 Mile Rd. NE.
The 56-unit complex will feature 13 two-story buildings with two-to-six units per building.
Units will range from 1,040 to 1,501 square feet and consist of one, two and three-bedroom layouts.
Individual amenities will include granite countertops, white shaker cabinetry, stainless-steel appliances, tiled backsplashes, bathrooms for each bedroom, walk-in closets, a full-size in-unit washer and dryer, private attached garage, private entry and a private patio or balcony.
Shared community amenities will consist of a common outdoor gathering area and a dog park.
A public groundbreaking ceremony at the property is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.
Site work on the six-acre property is scheduled to start in the next few weeks, and construction is slated to finish in the beginning of 2020.
The cost of the project and rents were not disclosed.
The project is owned by Village at Thirteen Hundred, LLC.
Grand Rapids-based Lott3Metz Architecture is the architect on the project.
