Firm garners $75 million worth of contracts

The last six months at Triangle Associates have been busy — in all the good ways.

The Grand Rapids-based construction and management company announced it has been awarded contracts valued at more than $75 million in total project costs.

All of the work was contracted within the last six months and the majority of it will be completed by the end of 2015, with some projects carrying over into the first quarter of 2016, said Jim Conner, vice president of business development at Triangle.

“Triangle has been fortunate to secure a significant amount of work to add to our current backlog for 2015. Several of these national clients are new to Triangle, and they’ll be investing in their building programs over the next several years,” he said.

“In many cases we will be working with these firms as their national construction partner. We’ll continue to work with other regional clients on future projects.”

Triangle provides design/build, construction management and general contracting services for secondary education, higher education, commercial, residential, health care, civic and retail projects. Some of the new projects are with Grand Rapids Public Schools, Kent City Public Schools, Northwood University, The Right Place Inc., Start Garden, Olds Manor redevelopment, West Michigan Pain, Indian Trails Camp, and Dave and Busters.

A large number of the clients and projects are outside of Michigan, Connor said.

“We are very excited about the new national clients we’ve secured, which will allow us to continue to build on our experience and expand our geographic regions. We’re also pleased that we’ve been able to expand our services within several market segments — retail, charter schools, medical and senior living,” he said.

“This will help us balance our workloads as market conditions change. That said, Triangle is currently celebrating its 97th anniversary and remains very committed to our clients and markets in West Michigan. Moving forward, we’ll continue to focus the core of our business in this region.”

For 2015, Conner noted Triangle is seeing a significant increase in just about every market segment. He said the firm will continue to focus on growth in all of these areas.

“As our business increases in all market segments, the demand for capable and skilled associates continues to grow,” he said. “We’re constantly looking for qualified people who fit within the culture of our team and offer the experience we need.”
