A food brand has added several more vegan options to its line of plant-based protein products.

MorningStar Farms, a brand of Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company known for its vegetarian offerings, recently introduced new vegan BBQ Chik’N Nuggets and revamped other items in its protein portfolio following the launch of its first-ever vegan burgers in 2018.

MorningStar Farms’ Buffalo Wings, Chik’N Nuggets, Buffalo Chik Patties and Original Chik Patties are now vegan, made with non-GMO soy and colors and flavors from natural sources.

The new vegan BBQ Chik’N Nuggets are crispy breaded nuggets with barbecue flavoring and plant-based protein.

The expanded vegan offerings “deliver more of what consumers want without compromising flavor or texture,” Kellogg Company said.

“We know there is a great demand for more variety when it comes to vegan options, so we are excited to announce that our great-tasting Chik’N products are now vegan,” said Melissa Cash, senior director of brand marketing, Kellogg Company.

“With more people embracing a plant-based diet and lifestyle, MorningStar Farms is committed to making food for all to enjoy.”

The products are available at retailers across the country where MorningStar Farms foods are sold, including Meijer, D&W Fresh Market and Family Fare.

Founded in 1906, Kellogg Company (NYSE: K) offers more than 1,600 foods, including cereal, snacks and frozen foods.

Its brands include Pringles, Cheez-It, Keebler, Special K, Frosted Flakes, Pop-Tarts, Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies, Eggo, Mini-Wheats, Kashi, RXBAR, MorningStar Farms and more.

Kellogg had 2017 sales of about $13 billion.
