A food brand is partnering with an entertainment company on a limited-edition cereal based on a popular children’s song.
Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company will roll out Kellogg’s Baby Shark cereal in collaboration with Pinkfong, which produced the children’s song “Baby Shark.” The song has more than 3-billion views on YouTube.
The limited-edition cereal — which will be released later this month — will include berry-flavored loops and marshmallow bits, blended together.
“We know ‘Baby Shark’ is a catchy tune that has captured the hearts of many families,” said Erin Storm, marketing director of All Family Cereal, Kellogg. “New Kellogg’s Baby Shark cereal was created to expand on the joy families feel in a tasty way.”
The companies timed the announcement of the new product to coincide with “Shark Week,” which runs this week through Aug. 4.
Kellogg’s Baby Shark cereal will be available in Sam’s Club stores starting Aug. 17 until supplies last.
