A local food distributor has appointed its next CEO.
Wyoming-based Gordon Food Service said today that Rich Wolowski, who has served as president and COO of Gordon Food Service since 2013, will take over as CEO, effective Nov. 1.
At that time, Wolowski will also join the company’s board.
Wolowski is the first non-family member to serve as CEO of Gordon Food Service.
He will succeed outgoing CEO Jim Gordon, who will assume the role of vice chairman of the Gordon Food Service board, effective Nov. 1.
“Rich has earned the confidence of the people of our company, our customers and vendors, the board and the entire Gordon family,” said Dan Gordon, board chairman, Gordon Food Service.
“We have confidence in the senior leadership team in place, and we anticipate no changes in how the company operates as a result of Rich’s and Jim’s role changes.”
Wolowski joined Gordon Food Service in 2004, where he’s also worked as director of program sales, general manager of the Central States division and senior manager of U.S. National accounts and North American eBusiness.
Previously, Wolowski served as VP of Amphire Solutions, VP of Instill Corporation and VP of National Accounts at US Foodservice for 10 years.
Wolowski also serves on the boards of the International Foodservice Distributors Association, Markon and Parental Care Ministries.
