Gerald R. Ford International Airport is reporting that February was a record month.

The airport saw more than 200,000 passengers last month, making it the busiest February in the airport's history.

Part of that record was the result of enplanements that rose by 10 percent.

The airport’s single-busiest month occurred in July 2016, with 238,237 passengers traveling through the airport.

In 2016, a record 2,653,630 passengers were served by the airport, an increase of 4.06 percent from 2015.

Passenger growth was recorded in nine of the 12 months in 2016.

Over the past four years, the airport said it has recorded the strongest growth in its 53-year history, serving more than 9.7 million passengers over the period.

Jim Gill, president and CEO of Ford airport, said February was “incredible” for the airport.

“We are excited to see our numbers continue to break records,” Gill said.
