Gerald R. Ford International Airport recently re-opened its viewing park after completing a $1.1-million renovation.
The airport unveiled its updated viewing park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last month.
The park is an attraction for airport guests, providing them with a clear vantage point to watch planes depart and arrive at the airport.
Renovations included the construction of a new pavilion, permanent restrooms, new seating areas and expanded parking.
The park, at 4820 Kraft Ave. SE, now has nearly double the previous amount of seating and nearly twice as much parking, up to 102 spaces from 57.
The park opened at its current location in 1995 and was updated due to its growing popularity among visitors.
