Gerald R. Ford International Airport continues to break traffic records.
With 292,135 passengers last month, up 17.8 percent from last year, this August was the airport’s best ever and its eighth record-breaking month in a row.
Through the end of August, Ford airport has served 2,176,525 passengers in 2018, surpassing the annual total reached in 2012.
“To know we are continuing to break records of years past sets us at an amazing pace to finish out the rest of 2018, and we expect to hit our three-million passenger mark,” said Jim Gill, president and CEO, Ford airport.
Several new non-stop flights from Grand Rapids have been announced since July.
“We expect the record numbers and trends to continue as we wrap up summer and continue into fall,” Gill said.
