A veteran in the legal sphere was honored for his more than three decades of contributions to his profession.
Warner Norcross + Judd LLP attorney and former managing partner John Tully was named the recipient of the 2019 Justice Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award at a recent Grand Rapids Bar and Justice Foundation event.
The award celebrates individuals who exemplify a commitment to the principles of improving the administration of justice, educating the public about core democratic values and promoting legal services to the disadvantaged.
Tully, who continues to serve as a partner emeritus, served as Warner’s third managing partner from 1998-2001. As an attorney, he focused on general litigation, which included environmental, construction and school desegregation litigation, for 36 years.
He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, where he served on the Judicial Qualifications Committee and Judicial Campaign Ethics Panel.
He is a former president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, a past president of Opera Grand Rapids, former chairman of Saint Mary’s Hospital and former executive board member of The Right Place Inc.
Tully earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Arts. from the University of Notre Dame.
