A local foundation has elected its board officers and two new trustees.

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation voted Christina Keller of Cascade Engineering as chair and Michael Rosloniec of Graystone Consulting as vice chair.

The new trustees are Kyle Caldwell of the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Kathleen Vogelsang of the Van Andel Institute.

Caldwell has an extensive background in public and philanthropic sectors, including the Michigan Community Service Commission, Michigan Nonprofit Association and Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.

“The residents of the Grand Rapids area are shining examples of how people from all walks of life can come together to give and make a difference,” Caldwell said. “I am honored and humbled to be asked to serve as a trustee and really look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work!”

Vogelsang’s previous involvement with the foundation includes her service on the Investment Review Committee.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to serve Grand Rapids Community Foundation in a larger capacity as a trustee,” Vogelsang said. “I have seen the positive impact that the Community Foundation has made in our community, thanks to the dedicated staff and supportive donors. As the need in our community continues to grow, I look forward to working with fellow trustees and staff to increase the impact that the Community Foundation makes in providing a stronger and thriving community.”

The board approved the officers and new members at a meeting Dec.11, and they began their roles on Jan. 1.

Terms are four years long, with the option to serve up to two terms.

Retiring from the board is Paul Keep of The Leadership Group after serving for eight years. He served on the Community Action Committee, Trusteeship Committee and was chair of the board in 2010.

The board consists of 11 adults and one student member.
