Founders Brewing Co. continues its rapid international growth, announcing Tuesday the brewery will begin distribution in the United Kingdom in June.
The beer, both year-round and seasonal selections, will be available in bottles and draft will follow later this year.
The beer will make its way over the Atlantic Ocean with the help of specialty beer importer James Clay.
“We’ve been looking at export opportunities for a while now, and we’re excited to partner with James Clay in making the United Kingdom one of our first international markets,” Founders Brewing Co. President John Green said.
Founders always has taken a unique approach on British-style ales, such as Founders Pale Ale, Centennial IPA, Founders Porter and Dirty Bastard.
“We are delighted to bring Founders Brewing beers to the UK market,” said Ian Clay, managing director of James Clay. “Founders is one of the most respected breweries in the world, brewing a truly world-class portfolio of beers. Introducing beers of Founders’ caliber to the UK is a fantastic addition to an increasingly diverse and vibrant UK beer culture.”
The announcement comes on the heels of several other distribution announcements in the past few months, including Texas, Florida and Canada.
