An office furniture maker has named a long-time member of its team its chief financial officer.

Herman Miller in Zeeland said last week that it has promoted Jeff Stutz to the role, effective immediately.

He fills the position vacated by Greg Bylsma, who was promoted to COO of Herman Miller North America, Work and Learning.

Finance background

Stutz joined Herman Miller in 2001 and has held numerous financial roles within the company, including chief accounting officer, treasurer and VP of investor relations, assistant corporate controller and director of consolidations and reporting.

He began his career as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche.

He holds a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from Grand Valley State University.

“Strong” leader

Herman Miller President and CEO Brian Walker praised Stutz’s 14 years of experience at the company.

“He is a strong, well-respected leader, and the expansion of his responsibilities over the past two years will allow for a seamless transition,” Walker said.

Bylsma added that he’s “proud of the finance team we’ve built,” and “Jeff has been a key part of that.”
