A furniture maker has named an executive with a finance background its new chief operating officer of North America.
Herman Miller in Zeeland said yesterday that Greg Bylsma has been named COO of Herman Miller North America, Work and Learning, effective immediately.
Since 2009, Bylsma has served as the company’s chief financial officer and executive vice president.
He also led Herman Miller’s global manufacturing operations for the past two years.
Previously, Bylsma has served as the company’s principal accounting officer and corporate controller.
He holds a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University.
Brian Walker, Herman Miller president and CEO, said Bylsma will play “an integral role in executing the initiatives we have put in place to accelerate growth in our North American contract business.”
“His deep experience with the company makes him a perfect fit to lead our North American business,” Walker said.
Bylsma’s appointment follows former COO Curt Pullen’s decision to step down from the company.
“I look forward to taking on my next challenge at Herman Miller, and I’m confident that we have the right tools and strategy in place to return to higher growth,” Bylsma said.
