A local security company has been acquired by a larger company in the same industry.

Allied Universal recently acquired Midstate Security in Wyoming. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Steve Jones, CEO of Allied Services, said the addition of Midstate is the first of many steps Allied Universal is taking to build out its technology services. The company also acquired Securadyne Systems in Dallas, Texas, earlier this year.

Midstate Security will expand the company’s Allied Universal Technology Services division, which provides electronic access control, video surveillance, fire/life safety, alarm monitoring, emergency communications, hosted/managed services and a variety of other security offerings.

Founded in 1980, Midstate Security designs, installs, services and maintains security systems for a wide variety of customers. It also provides an array of remote services from its UL-listed central station in Wyoming.

The company has annual revenues exceeding $20 million and 89 employees.

Allied Universal is a major North American security and facility services company with over 215,000 employees and annual revenues over $7.3 billion.
