The new president at GMB Architecture + Engineering started out as an intern at the firm.
David Bolt, the firm’s former vice president of architecture, assumed the leadership role this month, following the retirement of Harm Perdok, who served for 11 years.
The firm named Bolt as Perdok’s successor last fall.
“He’s been with the company going on 17 years,” said Christine Powers, communication director, GMB. “He started with the company as an intern when he was a student at Calvin College and has served as an architect the entire time.”
Powers said Bolt has worked on projects "all across" West Michigan and Indiana.
“He’s intimately familiar with West Michigan architecture,” Powers said.
Bolt, a West Michigan native, holds a B.A. in business from Calvin College and an M.Arch. from the University of Michigan.
GMB Architecture + Engineering has more than 90 employees spread throughout offices in Holland, Grand Rapids and Indianapolis.
