It might be freezing and blustery out — but nothing is stopping tonight’s first bridal show at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.

The GRAM has partnered with Kohler Expos and bridal boutique Bianka Bridal for the brand-new bridal show, which promises to be an elegant affair, from 5-9 p.m.

“This new bridal show at the GRAM will be in the design of a bridal show wedding planning party, something different than what West Michigan has seen before,” said Denise Kolesar, event producer, Kohler Expos.

Bianka Bridal

Bianka Bridal is new to Grand Rapids and will officially open its doors to the community on Jan. 13. It will be housed in the Ledyard Building.

The boutique will offer luxurious European and other international brands to the West Michigan bridal market at “affordable” prices.

“We are taking the challenge of a complete makeover of the Grand Rapids bridal industry,” said Rosy Lopiparo, international operations director of Bianka Bridal.

Lopiparo added, “Our collection will allow West Michigan brides an opportunity to find luxury and elegance in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.”

Runway

Tonight, attendees at the Winter Bridal Show of West Michigan will get a sneak peek of what the boutique has to offer, beginning at 7 p.m.

The runway showcase will include collections known for sophisticated drama, feminine detailing and a modern approach to bridal design for various budgets.

Wedding planning

The bridal show will offer brides-to-be a chance to meet with vendors from all aspects of the bridal industry: bridal and tuxedo shops, reception halls, caterers, photographers, honeymoon travel planners and more.

The holiday season is a big time for engagements, and Kolesar said that the event’s date would give newly engaged couples, particularly college students, a chance to connect with local vendors, while they’re still home for the holidays.

“We encourage engaged couples to print checklists off of the GRBrides.com website and bring them to the show and don’t forget the groom’s list,” Kolesar said. “Both the bridal show and the website are loaded with user-friendly information. Your careful planning can make it timeless, romantic and magical, so your wedding day will be an event to remember.”

Admission to the GRAM bridal show is $10 for adults at the door or in advance online.
