Neighborhood newbie Grand Rapids Brewing Co. hasn’t even been open for a year and is already adding a new entertainment option to the downtown music scene.

GRBC will begin offering acoustic music performances every Sunday from 8-10 p.m., starting Sunday, April 7.

The free concerts will welcome bands that don’t typically play acoustic sets to do so, providing a more intimate experience for fans. It also will include bands from multiple genres.

“It’s a rare occasion to see any of these great bands play in the acoustic, personal setting they’ll be playing here,” said Mark Sellers, owner of BarFly Ventures. “We want to support local artists, help expose our customers to new music and add another choice for the city to enjoy live (in the) entertainment district.”

The April lineup — which includes all Grand Rapids-based bands — is below.

April 7: Pistolbrides

April 14: Paucity

April 21: grrRoPoLis

April 28: Soundmeetsound
