The 10 finalists for the 2016 ATHENA Young Professional Award have been announced.
The Grand Rapids Area of Commerce revealed yesterday the finalists for the award, which recognizes emerging leaders for their contributions to the community, professional excellence and commitment to serving as a role model to young women.
“The finalists for this year’s ATHENA award were exceptional, both in their passion and commitment to the community,” said Jennifer Deamud, chair of the ATHENA program committee.
A winner will be chosen from the 10 finalists at the ATHENA Award Celebration on Sept. 15 at the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids.

ATHENA celebration
The ATHENA Young Professional Award winner and finalists will be honored at the celebration, along with 2016 ATHENA Award recipient, Shelly Irwin, and the ATHENA Award finalists.
Additionally, five ATHENA Scholarships will be awarded to women over 30 who are pursuing higher education degrees.
The cost for the event is $60 for chamber members and $75 for non-members.
The cost for a table is $800 for members and $950 for non-members.
