Grand Rapids ranks as the seventh best “mid-size” market for homebuyers in the country.

The ranking is based on a report on “2018 Best Real Estate Markets” by WalletHub, a personal finance website, which was posted this week.

The site compared 300 cities of varying sizes across two key dimensions, real estate market and affordability and economic development. These dimensions were evaluated across 22 key indicators, ranging from median home-price appreciation to home sales turnover rate and job growth.

WalletHub categorizes mid-size cities as having a population between 150,000 and 300,000 people.

Grand Rapids also came in 26th out of all 300 cities, with a real estate market rank of 25 and an affordability and economic development rank of 95.

Comparatively, the best overall market to buy a house is Frisco, Texas, with a real estate market rank of 8 and an affordability rank of 1.
