Grand Rapids Pops performing ‘The Music of John Williams’

Music from the “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” film franchises will come alive downtown this weekend.

The Grand Rapids Pops will present “Star Wars and More: The Music of John Williams” from May 11-13 at the DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids, at 303 Monroe Ave. NW. 

The Grand Rapids Pops will be led by conductor Bob Bernhardt.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the event will begin at 3 p.m.

The concert will feature music from all three “Star Wars” trilogies.

The Grand Rapids Symphony Youth Chorus, directed by Sean Ivory, will also perform songs, including “Battles of Heroes,” from “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith,” and “Exultate Justi" from “Empire of the Sun.”

Concert-goers will be greeted at the door by costumed heroes and villains from the “Star Wars” franchise, such as “Darth Vader,” “Kylo Ren,” “Rey,” Storm Troopers and more.
