The 2017-2018 season of the Grand Rapids Symphony is ending with a bang.

The symphony will present “Beethoven’s Ninth” today and tomorrow at 8 p.m. at DeVos Performance Hall.

The concert will also feature two contemporary pieces inspired by Beethoven.

The performance will begin with “Variacões Temporais, Beethoven Revisitado” (Temporal Variations, Beethoven Revisited) by Brazilian composer Ronald Miranda.

The concert will end with “Testament,” which was composed by Alexander Miller of Grand Rapids. The song was inspired by Beethoven’s 1802 “Heiligenstadt Testament.”

There will also be a free pre-concert, “Inside the Music,” which will be held at 7 p.m. at DeVos Place's Recital Hall.

“Beethoven’s Ninth” will be broadcast on June 3 at 1 p.m. on Blue Lake Public Radio 88.9 FM or 90.3 FM.

Tickets start at $18.
