Kites of all shapes and colors will take over the Grand Haven sky this weekend for the 25th annual Great Lakes Kite Festival.

The first kites will take off on Friday at 4 p.m., with 10 time national champions Chicago Fire Kite Team and a kite ballet performance conducted by national champion Zach Gordon.

Saturday and Sunday will feature two full days of events: more kite ballets, stunt-kite demonstrations, giant-kites launch, kite-boarding demonstrations and performances by several kite teams.

The event will also include the largest outdoor kite store, an inflatable obstacle course, kite-testing opportunities, an indoor kite event and night-fly events.

The festival is at Grand Haven State Park — where EarthCam's Lake Michigan Cam broadcasts a live feed of the Grand Haven Lighthouse & Pier.
