A gymnastics center is building a bigger home that will allow it to accommodate more students.
For the Kidz in Wyoming is in the process of constructing a one story, 20,500-square-foot gym, at 1391 Gezon Parkway SW, said Jim DeLange, chief building official, city of Wyoming.
Midwest Construction Group in Zeeland is working on the project.
The project’s construction value is $1.215 million, DeLange said.
The gym is expected to be ready in October, said Alex Richards, coach and manager, For the Kidz.
“It’s going to be a lot bigger than what we have now,” Richards said.
For the Kidz is going to transfer all of its equipment into the new gym from its current space in Wyoming, at 5960 Burlingame Ave. SW.
It also has plans to add a preschool, which it will start in September.
For the Kidz was founded in Wyoming in 2005 and has about 550 students in gymnastic classes, with students from preschool to college age, Richards said.
Richards added that with the expansion into the larger space, For the Kidz will be able to train about 2,000 students, which means owner Alisa Vance has plans to hire more staff.
