A local hard cider maker is developing a line of spirits in partnership with a Grand Rapids distillery.
Under the partnership, Grand Rapids-based Long Road Distillers will make spirits with new recipes for Vander Mill, including vodka, gin and apple brandy, according to Vander Mill yesterday.
The apple brandy will use Vander Mill product as its base.
Labeled as Vander Mill Spirits, the products will initially be offered at the cider maker's Grand Rapids restaurant.
Vander Mill Cider also announced a brunch menu for Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., which will feature breakfast cocktails using Vander Mill Spirits.
The brunch menu will include a variety of breakfast items, such as shrimp and grits, avocado toast, biscuits and gravy, liege waffles and eggs benedict.

Vander Mill will also serve Rowster Coffee, cidermosas and breakfast cocktails, along with its full line of hard ciders.
Vander Mill also said it's planning an outdoor festival, in partnership with Brewery Vivant, which will take place June 10 outside of the cider maker’s Grand Rapids facility, at 505 Ball Ave. NE, which was recently named Establishment of the Year by the United States Association of Cider Makers.
The June festival is meant to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Vander Mill’s founding in Spring Lake.
The festival will have a music component, with a lineup to be announced in the coming months.
“We’ve grown so much in 10 years — from delivering one keg of cider at a time to a two-restaurant operation that distributes out of state — and we want to celebrate that success by thanking our incredible customers, staff and community,” Vander Mill Owner Paul Vander Heide said.
