Two Spectrum Health executives garnered national recognition as leaders in their field.
Spectrum Health’s Darryl Elmouchi and Jason Joseph were honored by Becker's Hospital Review, a health care trade magazine.
Elmouchi, MD, MBA, chief medical officer for Spectrum Health and president for Spectrum Health Medical Group, was named to the magazine’s “100 hospital and health system chief medical officers to know.”
“As proven leaders in their field, the physicians highlighted on this list have extensive experience building clinical and administrative teams,” Becker stated. “They play an integral role on the executive team moving their organization's strategic vision forward while always keeping the patient front and center.”
Elmouchi also serves as president of Spectrum Health Medical Group, a multispecialty medical practice with more than 1,700 physicians and advanced practice providers. He is responsible for all facets of the medical group’s operations and its partnership with the community, including strategic planning, business development, physician recruitment, service expansion, clinical operations, patient relations, quality, patient care and safety, marketing and financial performance.
Joseph, MBA, senior vice president and chief information officer for Spectrum Health, was listed on the publication’s 2020 annual list of “100 hospital and health system CIOs to know.”
“The individuals and institutions featured (on this list) have received recognition from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, and in many cases, their institutions have earned CHIME's HealthCare's Most Wired designation,” Becker noted.
Joseph was promoted to his current position in 2018. He is responsible for strategic and operational systems, cybersecurity and emergency preparedness. Prior to being promoted, he served as the senior vice president of information services for Spectrum Health Delivery System.
During his time at Spectrum, he ensured the implementation of an integrated clinical and revenue cycle system, creation and growth of a regional health information exchange, implementation of consumer-facing digital technologies, advancement of business intelligence and analytics capabilities, and pursuit of a culture of excellence and innovation.
